SUPP was founded for the benefit of the people. One of SUPP\u2019s founding objectives is to safeguard the interests of Sarawak within the context of Malaysia. We have not wavered from that mission.<\/p>\n
While we do not agree with the concept of BN Direct Candidates, we have been overruled by Chief Minister of Sarawak.\u00a0 We are disappointed at the allocation of the SUPP seats to BN Direct Candidates, and especially Pujut, where the CM had changed his mind, but we are cognizant that it is his prerogative.\u00a0 Similarly, we trust that all BN direct candidates will adhere to the CM\u2019s directive that they must resign from their existing political parties in order to be eligible to contest as BN Direct Candidates and that SUPP seats allocated to BN Direct Candidates remain SUPP seats.<\/p>\n
To party members, I urge them to remain united in order to remain a force to be reckoned with. We have unseen forces intent on destroying SUPP (both from within and external). Our immediate goal is to win our existing seats, consolidate power to prepare for the longer-term fight.<\/p>\n
We have urged the rakyat to keep focus on the critical issue at stake: to regain Sarawak\u2019s autonomy from Putrajaya. This State election has a greater mission beyond the Sarawak Election. This election is about the future of the people of Sarawak and how we can regain our autonomy.<\/p>\n
Now is the time to put our past differences aside, and stand united to safeguard Sarawak.
