Sharing time at the Miri MRC Sunflower centre
Piasau State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sebastian Ting spend some quality time with the students at the Miri MRC Sunflower centre. He thanked Madam Liza and the team from Cross Border for inviting him to the occasion. Last year on 8th December, Cross Border started “Wrap with Love” a charity campaign to donate Christmas gifts . They have recently collected a total of 114 gifts from the public.
Abang Johari: CIQ at Sungai Tujoh will be upgraded
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, said t he Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Centre (CIQ) at Sungai Tujoh will be upgraded in view of the high volume of people from both Miri and Brunei passing the checkpoint. He said so far a total of RM750,000 has been allocated for the planned works to ease traffic flow at this northern gateway to the state. Police: Crime in Padawan under control.
Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang called DAP’s criticism against him as cheap publicity and irresponsible. He said DAP leaders had criticized him and the police for not working in tandem to combat crime in Padawan. Lo said the DAP can criticize him all they want but he will continue to work hard and do better, he said at a dialogue session with the Padawan police station yesterday. 陈超耀探访美里向日葵特殊儿康复中心儿童
砂人联党卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师于日前前往美里向日葵特殊儿康复中心，探访当地儿童。 现场有来自Cross Border团队的队员，进行慈善活动，与儿童们一起互动。 向日葵特殊儿童康复中心是属于红新月会属下一个社会关怀服务中心。去年12月，Cross Border团队展开爱心筹募圣诞礼物活动，成功筹募到114份圣诞节礼物，于当天派送给儿童们。
美里双溪都九关卡设施获得提升
副首长拿督阿玛阿邦佐哈里披露，美里双溪都九关卡的设施将会获得提升，以应付日益增加的使用量。 他说，政府总共拨出75万令吉作为提升该关卡的用途，包括道路规划等等。 “该关卡的出入境的通道将从目前的双车道扩建为4车道，以纾解高峰时间，车子在路上排长龙的窘境。” 此外，他认为，除了改善和扩建车道外，检关的时间亦非常关键。因此他指出，未来美里双溪都九关卡检验大马公民护照，只需5秒便能通关，检验汶国护照也只需15秒。 “我仔细了解后，官员只需数秒便可以处理好一本护照，工作很有效率。” 他续指出，该关卡将从本月17日开始，由原本只有8名负责处理通关工作的官员，增加11人，即是有19人将负责处理通关服务柜台的工作。当局亦可在车辆入境高峰时段，开启18个检关服务柜台。 他表示，该关卡需设置LED显示灯管牌，让车主可以清楚知道哪一个服务柜台有空档，便可将车子驶入，避免在车龙里继续苦候。 陪同阿邦佐哈里巡视者包括助理部长拿督李景胜、卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀律师和美里市长俞小珊。
罗克强：积极与警方联手打击罪案
砂人联党巴都吉当州议员兼巴达旺市议会主席罗克强强调，来自于反对党的毫无根据指责，将让他在往后有更大的动力与决心，努力勤劳向上及为民服务！ 他称，反对党多次指责其并未真正解决巴达旺辖区内的非法赌博，吸毒，卖淫等犯罪案件，针对此事，他表示，本身确实多次结合警方的力量打击有关罪案，惟，当中拥有一定的难度。 “试问，有谁愿意站出来表示自己有参与非法赌博，非法卖淫？这是不可能的，因此，我们与警方之间的一些取缔行动同样也是保密，不能对外透露！人民肯定知道我罗克强有做工，现在勤劳，以后会更加勤劳，甚至将这些责备当作一个挑战！” 罗克强强调，市议会及警方的行动，没有必要每个事项都对外告知，因为有些事秘密，秘密行动根本被告知，尤其是警方，以免打草惊蛇。 “这不是我们要的政治路线，这是在误导人民，制造憎恨，尤其是在人民与市议会之间，常常因此酿成误会。我们只是要确保工作被完成，而非在工作未完成之前先行召开新闻发布会，对外公布”。 另一方面，巴达旺警区主任艾迪尔披露，警方与巴达旺市议会有密切合作，非法赌博已经受到控制，并在石角，圣淘沙，巴达旺等网赌场所进行突击行动，成功破了29个案件，涉及非法赌博及打鱼机。其中一个在石角的赌博案件，被判罚款令吉8000。 他继续，去年的犯罪案指数减少了个案7件，从2015年的907个案件减少至去年900个。但劫车案有所增加，包括偷车，偷电单车等。
